Play-and-earn: the game before the gain

MonsterMine is a Web3 game, from the family known as play-to-earn. We say play-and-earn, and that nuance is our whole philosophy: the game before the gain. You collect creatures, you build your Mine, you take on other players. And because everything lives on Solana, what you get from playing is truly yours.

Play-to-earn, play-and-earn: what is the difference?

In a classic play-to-earn, earning is the reason to play: the game is just a wrapper around a reward mechanic. Play-and-earn reverses the order. You play because collecting creatures, building your Mine and taking on other players is fun, and the game then rewards time, skill and consistency. If the economy vanished tomorrow, MonsterMine would still be a game worth playing. That is our test.

Why we reject play-to-earn that pays by minting tokens

Many games pay their players by minting tokens non-stop. As long as new players keep coming, it holds; the moment growth slows, rewards collapse and the game empties out. We built the opposite: GEM is hard-capped, it is not handed out to attract a crowd, and the game recycles it. Its entire economy is documented publicly, numbers included, on our Tokenomic page.

Proof of Play

GEM is not for sale anywhere: it is mined. Only the power of your MonsterMine produces it, and that power depends on how you play: which creatures you field, how you grow them, where you place them. That is Proof of Play, and it is what makes MonsterMine free-to-play: the economy comes from the game, not from an entry ticket.

What you can play today

Four mini-games with their leaderboards, plus the demo of the Mine, the heart of the game. The full game is in development, and every mode shows its real status on the Game page: available, in development, or planned for launch. We prefer an honest status to a promise.

What GEM is not

GEM is not live yet, and it is not a promise of returns. Our terms and conditions say it plainly: the game's tokens are not meant to be an investment, and their value can drop to zero. What we document is a model: a hard cap, production through play, recycling, with a public simulator so you can explore it for yourself, cycle after cycle.

Ownership, the real kind

Your MonsterMine and your items are recorded on Solana: they sit in your wallet, they are truly yours, and they stay there even if you stop playing. The game moves in seasons, and each season brings its own MonsterMine: once a season ends, they are no longer distributed by our services and can only be obtained by trading with other players.
